Ingredients
- Whole wheat tortilla 1 large (71g)
- Grilled chicken breast, sliced 5 oz (140g)
- Romaine lettuce 1.5 cups (90g)
- Caesar dressing, light 2 tbsp (30g)
- Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp (5g)
Method
-
Prepare the grilled chicken.
If your chicken breast is not yet cooked, start by seasoning it with salt and pepper. Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken breast for about 5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and juices run clear. Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice it into thin strips.
Tip: Letting the chicken rest after grilling helps retain its juices, keeping it moist and tender. -
Prepare the lettuce.
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. Dry the leaves using a salad spinner or pat gently with paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
Tip: Dry lettuce ensures the wrap doesn’t get soggy. -
Warm the tortilla.
Warm the whole wheat tortilla slightly to make it more pliable. You can do this by heating it in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or microwaving it wrapped in a damp paper towel for 15 seconds.
Tip: Warming the tortilla prevents cracking when you fold the wrap. -
Assemble the wrap.
Place the warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread the light Caesar dressing evenly over the tortilla, leaving about 1 inch from the edges. Layer the chopped romaine lettuce evenly over the dressing. Next, add the sliced grilled chicken breast on top of the lettuce. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly over the chicken.
Tip: Don’t overload the wrap to make folding easier. -
Roll the wrap.
Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla over the filling, then fold the sides inwards and continue rolling tightly until the wrap is fully enclosed. Use a sharp knife to cut the wrap in half diagonally if desired.
Tip: Tucking in the sides first helps keep the filling secure.
Pro tips
- Use leftover grilled chicken to save time.
