Ingredients
- Lean ground beef 150 g
- Corn tortillas 3 small
- Salsa 3 tbsp
- Shredded lettuce 1 cup
- Olive oil 1 tbsp
Method
-
Prepare Ingredients.
Gather all ingredients. Rinse the lettuce under cold water, then dry and shred it finely. Measure out the lean ground beef, corn tortillas, salsa, and olive oil.
Tip: Drying the lettuce well helps it stay crisp in the tacos. -
Heat the Olive Oil.
Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and let it warm up for about 1 minute until shimmering but not smoking.
Tip: Use medium heat to avoid burning the oil. -
Cook the Ground Beef.
Add the 150g of lean ground beef to the hot pan. Break it up with a spatula or wooden spoon. Cook for about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and no pink remains.
Tip: Season with salt and pepper if desired for extra flavor. -
Warm the Corn Tortillas.
While the beef cooks, warm the corn tortillas. You can do this by placing them one at a time in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side until soft and pliable, or wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for 20-30 seconds.
Tip: Warming tortillas makes them easier to fold without cracking. -
Assemble the Tacos.
Place the warmed tortillas on a plate. Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef among the three tortillas. Top each with about 1 tablespoon of salsa and a generous amount of shredded lettuce.
Tip: Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
Pro tips
- Use a non-stick pan to reduce the amount of oil needed for cooking.
- If you prefer spicier tacos, add a pinch of chili powder or cumin to the beef while cooking.
