Ingredients

  • Whey protein powder 1 scoop (30g)
  • Rolled oats 40 g
  • Egg whites 3 large
  • Strawberries 80 g
  • Baking powder 1/2 tsp
  • Water or milk 60 ml
  • Cooking oil or butter 1 tsp

Method

  1. Prepare the oats. Place the rolled oats in a blender or food processor and blend until they become a fine oat flour. This helps create a smoother pancake batter.
Tip: If you don't have a blender, you can use oat flour directly or pulse the oats in a coffee grinder.
  2. Mix dry ingredients. In a mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, whey protein powder, and baking powder. Stir well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
Tip: Make sure there are no lumps in the protein powder for a smooth batter.
  3. Add egg whites. Add the 3 large egg whites to the dry ingredients. Using a whisk or fork, mix them together until you get a thick batter. If the batter is too thick, add a little water or milk (1 tablespoon at a time) to reach a pourable consistency.
Tip: Egg whites provide protein and help the pancakes rise, so mix gently to keep some air in the batter.
  4. Heat the pan. Place a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of cooking oil or butter to grease the pan. Wait until the pan is hot but not smoking.
Tip: Test the heat by sprinkling a few drops of water; if they sizzle, the pan is ready.
  5. Cook the pancakes. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges start to look set. Carefully flip the pancakes using a spatula and cook the other side for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
Tip: Do not press down on the pancakes; let them cook gently to stay fluffy.
  6. Serve with strawberries. Place the cooked pancakes on a plate and top them with the fresh sliced strawberries. Optionally, you can add a drizzle of honey or yogurt for extra flavor.
Tip: Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Pro tips

  • Use a non-stick pan for easy flipping and less oil.
  • If batter is too thick, add liquid gradually to avoid watery batter.
