Ingredients

  • whole wheat tortilla 1 large
  • sliced turkey breast 5 oz
  • avocado 0.25 medium
  • mixed greens 1 cup
  • light mayonnaise 1 tbsp

Method

  1. Prepare the avocado. Take a ripe avocado and cut it in half. Remove the pit carefully. Use a spoon to scoop out about a quarter of the avocado. Place it in a small bowl and mash it gently with a fork until smooth but still a bit chunky.
Tip: If the avocado is not ripe, it will be hard to mash. A ripe avocado yields slightly to gentle pressure.
  2. Spread the mayonnaise and avocado. Lay the whole wheat tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread the tablespoon of light mayonnaise evenly over the tortilla. Then spread the mashed avocado on top of the mayo layer, covering most of the tortilla but leaving about an inch border around the edges.
Tip: Spreading the mayo first helps the avocado stick to the tortilla better.
  3. Add turkey slices. Place the 5 ounces of sliced turkey breast evenly over the avocado layer. Try to arrange the slices so they cover the tortilla without too much overlapping, which helps with an even bite.
Tip: If your turkey slices are thick, you can cut them in half or slightly shred them for easier rolling.
  4. Add mixed greens. Take 1 cup of washed and dried mixed greens and spread them evenly on top of the turkey. This will add freshness and a nice crunch to your wrap.
Tip: Make sure your greens are dry to avoid sogginess in the wrap.
  5. Roll the wrap. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly but gently, making sure the fillings stay inside. Tuck in the sides slightly as you roll to keep everything contained. Once rolled, you can slice the wrap in half diagonally for easier eating.
Tip: Use a sharp knife to slice the wrap cleanly without squishing the filling.

Pro tips

  • Use ripe avocado for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • If you want extra flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the mashed avocado to prevent browning.
