Ingredients
- sliced turkey breast 4 oz
- cheddar cheese 2 slices
- small apple 1 whole
Method
-
Prepare your workspace.
Wash your hands thoroughly. Clean a cutting board and have a sharp knife ready. Place your ingredients on the board.
Tip: Using a clean workspace helps keep your food safe. -
Lay out the turkey slices.
Place the 4 oz of sliced turkey breast flat on the cutting board, slightly overlapping if needed, to create a base for rolling.
Tip: If slices are large, you can slightly overlap to form a rectangle. -
Add the cheese slices.
Place the two slices of cheddar cheese evenly over the turkey slices, covering as much as possible.
Tip: If you prefer melted cheese, you can microwave the cheese slices on turkey for 15 seconds, but this is optional. -
Core and slice the apple.
Wash the apple well. Use a knife or apple corer to remove the core. Then slice the apple into thin, long slices about 1/4 inch thick.
Tip: Thin slices make the roll-ups easier to eat and roll tightly. -
Assemble the roll-ups.
Place a few apple slices lengthwise on one edge of the turkey and cheese stack. Carefully roll the turkey and cheese around the apple slices tightly to form a roll-up.
Tip: Roll slowly to keep the apple slices inside and prevent tearing the turkey. -
Cut and serve.
If desired, cut the roll-up in half diagonally for easier eating. Arrange on a plate and enjoy immediately.
Tip: Serve with extra apple slices or a small side salad for a complete snack.
Pro tips
- Use fresh turkey slices for the best flavor and texture.
- If you want to add extra flavor, spread a thin layer of mustard or mayonnaise on the turkey before adding cheese.
