Ingredients

  • Whole wheat tortilla 1 large
  • Sliced turkey breast 5 oz
  • Hummus 2 tbsp
  • Lettuce 0.5 cup
  • Tomato 0.25 cup
  • Cucumber 0.25 cup

Method

  1. Prepare the vegetables. Wash the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber thoroughly under running water. Pat them dry with a clean towel. Chop the lettuce roughly, dice the tomato, and slice or dice the cucumber as preferred.
Tip: Make sure the vegetables are dry so the wrap doesn't get soggy.
  2. Warm the tortilla. Place the whole wheat tortilla on a dry skillet over medium heat for about 20 seconds on each side. This makes it more pliable and easier to roll without tearing.
Tip: If you don't have a skillet, you can warm the tortilla in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
  3. Spread the hummus. Lay the warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface. Using a spoon or butter knife, spread 2 tablespoons of hummus evenly over the center of the tortilla, leaving about 1 inch of space around the edges.
Tip: Spreading the hummus evenly helps keep the wrap moist and flavorful.
  4. Add the turkey slices. Place the 5 ounces of sliced turkey breast on top of the hummus in an even layer. Make sure the slices cover the hummus but do not extend beyond the edges of the tortilla.
Tip: If the turkey slices are large, you can fold them to fit the tortilla better.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables. Sprinkle the chopped lettuce, diced tomato, and sliced cucumber evenly over the turkey slices. This adds crunch and freshness to your wrap.
Tip: Don't overfill the wrap to make rolling easier.
  6. Roll the wrap. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward about 1 inch, then start rolling from the edge closest to you tightly but gently to form a wrap. Continue rolling until fully closed.
Tip: Keep the filling tucked in as you roll to prevent it from falling out.

Pro tips

  • Use fresh vegetables for the best flavor and texture.
  • If you want extra flavor, add a sprinkle of black pepper or your favorite herbs inside the wrap.
