Ingredients
- Whole wheat tortilla 1 large (60g)
- Sliced turkey breast 4 oz (113g)
- Lettuce 1/2 cup (15g)
- Tomato slices 3 slices (50g)
- Mustard 1 tbsp (15g)
Method
-
Prepare your ingredients.
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly under cold running water, then pat dry with paper towels. Slice the tomato into three even slices if not pre-sliced. Lay out all ingredients on a clean surface.
Tip: Dry lettuce well to prevent the wrap from becoming soggy. -
Warm the tortilla.
Warm the whole wheat tortilla slightly to make it more pliable. You can do this by microwaving it for about 10 seconds or warming it in a dry skillet over medium heat for 15-20 seconds on each side.
Tip: Warming prevents the tortilla from cracking when you roll it. -
Add the mustard.
Spread the tablespoon of mustard evenly over the surface of the warm tortilla using the back of a spoon or a butter knife. This adds flavor and helps hold the wrap together.
Tip: Be sure to spread mustard close to the edges to maximize flavor in every bite. -
Layer the turkey slices.
Place the 4 ounces of sliced turkey breast on top of the mustard-covered tortilla. Arrange the slices evenly so the wrap has consistent flavor and texture throughout.
Tip: You can slightly overlap the slices for better coverage. -
Add lettuce and tomato.
Place the half cup of lettuce evenly over the turkey, then layer the three tomato slices on top of the lettuce.
Tip: Avoid overfilling to make rolling easier. -
Roll the wrap.
Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla up over the filling, then fold in the sides and continue rolling tightly until the wrap is fully enclosed.
Tip: Tight rolling helps keep the ingredients secure and makes it easier to eat.
Pro tips
- If you want extra flavor, add a slice of cheese like Swiss or provolone.
- Use a toothpick to secure the wrap if it feels loose before cutting.
